Have Fur, Will Travel

Kitten Thunder was helping me this evening. I pulled a suitcase out of the closet. One cat stayed on top of the other suitcase in the closet. The other immediately packed himself. Then…suitcase thunder.

Imagine, if you will, 14 pound of grey furry in a midsize suitcase that is halfway zipped. We start with normal kitten cuteness. Head out of the suitcase. Pull back in. Out. In. One paw in. Head out.

Then Obi was on top of the suitcase, unaware of his brother. The suitcase grew an arm that grabbed his tail. Obi moved two feet straight up, then half a foot over in one startled move. Thunder was ON.

Twenty-five pound of furry in the suitcase. Brown head out. Grey arm out. Brown head in. Grey head out. Brown tail. Three arms. One arm. Heads.

Suitcase falls over.

Grey kitten exits and we’re back to one. Head out of the suitcase. Pull back in. Out. In. One paw in. Head out.

LOL, Angi, you just described my packing experience a few weeks ago with one extra cat. Mustang Sally likes to thunder by herself, but it’s more fun when I get in on the action. LOVE it!

  2. dear gawd, sometimes I think I ought to just carry my goods and personals in a grocery bag to avoid letting Callie Jean in the suitcase. One of these days, she’s gonna really piss off the good folks at Hilton!

    • I have TOTALLY traveled with my clothes in a grocery bag. Though only to my parents’ house because they’ll judge me out loud. And understand.
